WHAT WE DO
We look to work with like minded people to create projects and objects that make everyday enjoyable, 'just nice'.
COLLABORATIONS
We design for people and brands across the world, from furniture and lighting to accessories and experiences. For us collaborations are about working together with people to create a product that is a unique combination of both brand values.
EXHIBITIONS
Working with galleries and curators we create pieces and whole presentations where we explore object and sculptural typographies as well as materials and processes. We have worked with National Gallery of Victoria (Melbourne), Pieces of Eight (Melbourne), Lamington Drive (Melbourne), Cooper Hewitt (New York) and Hugo Michell (Adelaide).

EDITIONS
These are pieces that are produced by our studio, that include such things as charms, mobiles, furniture and lighting. All editions are made in small batches making them customisable, scalable and suitable for personal or commercial applications.

ABOUT
Daniel Emma is a design studio we (Daniel To and Emma Aiston) established to explore our shared love for objects and the stories they can tell.
We both grew up in Adelaide, Australia, and studied industrial design before heading to London. There, we gained experience working in studios such as Thorsten Van Elten, Committee, and Marc Newson. Since then we returned home and established our practice, where we have been fortunate to collaborate with local and international brands including Aark (Australia), the National Gallery of Victoria (Australia), Hay (Denmark), Tresna (Indonesia), COS (Sweden), and Petite Friture (France).
For over 10 years we were creative directors at JamFactory, focusing on retail and the studio capabilities (furniture, glass, ceramics and jewellery) of the craft and design organisation. Here we worked with people to tell their stories through the activities of organisation to paint a picture of modern Australian craft and design.
Our work is inspired by everyday life in Adelaide, the vibrant colours and material combinations found in cities like Hong Kong and Tokyo, and the timeless appeal of iconic silhouettes. We love exploring contrasts in colour, texture, and materials across all our projects. Our work has been recognised through media features and design awards, which continue to inspire us to push boundaries.
